Mob logic....Oxymorons at best -- Adrenaline logic. Mob logic.
The herdsmen saw the robots react to Bethix; heard her pleas to put down their whips. Adrenaline logic after fighting for their lives quickly makes them think she is in on it. after a brief thought, Ting agrees with her. Therefore, he too is part of the rob rebellion. They can take out their anger on humans who can't rebuild themselves.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16435271.post-79321215240916766972008-12-11T09:46:00.000-05:002008-12-11T09:46:00.000-05:00"malachai is feeling a bit shallow"well at least h..."malachai is feeling a bit shallow"

well at least he's become a nicer person since children of the corn days. :)

Ting is great but the end seems a bit off for me as well with the herdmen turning on him so quickly and Ting being scared.

Orick of TorontoOrick of Torontohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07151258407218493474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16435271.post-51245319913175038102008-12-10T23:26:00.000-05:002008-12-10T23:26:00.000-05:00Ting's war cry put me in mind of the last charge o...Ting's war cry put me in mind of the last charge of the Rohirrim. As has already been said, I like watching him in his prime.

The behavior of the herdsmen at the end seems a bit uncharacteristic, though. For one thing, they have seen Ting fighting for his life and taking hits with them, so they have no reason to doubt his loyalty... and for another, every single one of them is convinced that the robots are just malfunctioning, so a thought like "the outworlders are with the robots" doesn't make any sense at all.

Granted, mobs can be stupid, but this just doesn't seem to fit.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16435271.post-85542713753658050122008-12-10T16:03:00.000-05:002008-12-10T16:03:00.000-05:00Another exciting episode.I could get used to a reg...Another exciting episode.

I could get used to a regular update schedule again. The pitched battle, as Mark said, was well done.

Bethix's impromptu rescue of the surviving herdsmen smacked (for me) of Leia's unexpected entrance onto the stage just after the Ewoks captured Luke et al down there on Endor. But then I relate anything I can to Star Wars, whenever I can.Simonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06946639624660520997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16435271.post-4645172124034904492008-12-10T09:03:00.000-05:002008-12-10T09:03:00.000-05:00I'm enjoying seeing Ting as a young man in the fig...I'm enjoying seeing Ting as a young man in the fight. I had an easy time visualizing all of this, and hand-to-hand combat is not easy to write effectively.

A defenseless Bethix obviously was not rob-mauled at the end of the last chapter, and knows the secret -- lay down your arms.

I was a little bummed to see Old Hauler felled so quickly. He was an interesting character in just his brief speech.

Good stuff.Markhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08722639974320971726noreply@blogger.com
